The long-time 5th Judicial Circuit arbitrator is again behind the bench. He retired in September 2003 on the other hand worked until February 2004 before his replacement was appointed. He's also done legal work since, arbitrating divorces and being appointed by way of the state Supreme Court to inspect some circuit court cases.

"I at no time got completely out of the business," Dobberpuhl, 73 said.

Now, he's back at it full-time. connoisseur Larry Lovrien retired earlier this summer and Dobberpuhl was chosened to help ease the caseload. Aberdeen magistrate umpire Tony Portra will take across for Lovrien, probably as quick as the year ends. Until then, Dobberpuhl could exhaust a lot of time at local courthouses.

"They changed the enclosures but I'm just too dutiful at picking them," Dobberpuhl jok
