If you've continually been in Melgaard Park forward a Thursday summer evening, you probably have heard the melodious unbrokens of the Aberdeen Municipal Band.

Forty area music lover make up the band. Its 2006 concord season began June 15 and conclusions Aug. 3. Performances are at 8 pm each Thursday at the Melgaard Park bandshell.

This year there are more recently made known band members than ever, said director Jerry Letcher.

"Several clan moved away," he said.

Letcher has been the director since 1996 He mov to Aberdeen in 1984 and played in the band forward and off for about seven years before becoming the director. The band itself has been around for 87 years.

About 10 band members are novel although some have substituted in the past,
