In the nearest couple of weeks, the foundation will be poured for the expansion at the First United Methodist house of god in Aberdeen.

After years of discussion and fundraising, construction has begun, and nobody is happier about the throw out than the Rev. Eldon Reich, senior pastor.

"Our ecclesiastical authority is basically just a chest and we don't have any room" Reich said. "We've been thinking about this for 10 years."

The roughly $45 million community life center expansion, which is being built in succession the south side of the existing ecclesiastical body at 502 S. Lincoln St is wait fored to help with overcrowding during services and allow more office and meeting space.

When finished, the community life center will house 15 of recent origin classrooms, a gym and a fellowship area where more [i]or[/i] less worship services will be. The of recent origin addition will be attached to the existing building.
