The United Way had its annual fundraising kickoff Tuesday. This year, the assemblage under the guidance of Jakober and Glenna Fouberg, will make trial of to raise $685,000. The goal last year, $665000 was met

"I guarantee we'll hit our goal with (Jakober and Fouberg) running things," said Tom Agnitsch, the head of the local United Way. "They do a dutiful job. They'll crack the whip."

United Way helps store 19 agencies and 39 programs in Brown McPherson, Edmund Marshall, Day and Spink counties.
