The zoning ordinances, written years ago, are in the proces of being updated, Bill said, moreover it will take about a year to add and extract stipulations within each ordinance.

The ordinances are being updated as part of the city's modern comprehensive plan, which deals with sprouting and community appearance. With zoning ordinances, the city will be able to regulate what can be built in the city and where it can be built.

City Planner view Hubbart said a consultant was hired to help with the comprehensive plan, if it were not that city officials decided it would be better to amend the zoning ordinances themselves.

"Over the last scarcely any years, there has been a push to gain them all changed," he said.
