Welcome substantial rains that graced parts of northeast southern Dakota in the past week or in the way that might help boost yield a little bit in any soybean fields, said agronomist Todd Peterson of Aberdeen-based southerly Dakota Wheat Growers.

"Any rain we can learn will help fill soybean pods" he said.

Soybeans are still reproducing, he said, which means recently made known beans can still form inside legumes

The situation is different with corn. Rain might help fill abroad the kernels already on the corn-cob but no new kernels will form at this point, Peterson said.

any producers said their soybean clip is so far behind that more moisture probably won't make a great quantity [i]or[/i] amount of difference. Glenn Jung of rural Hosmer said his soybeans have from three to four capsules per plant. Normal is 25 by plant, he said.

He has no plans to harvest them with a combine. still he hopes to turn
